New 2010 Season
New Season starts 13 January, which is this coming wednesday. Each player needs to check his fines and whatnot from last season and pay up and (sorry!) pay 50,000 won to join this year. Last season the captain(s) paid for the whole thing. This season that won't happen. So get your cash ready!! We are a little short on players for the first few weeks, so if you know anybody--really anybody!--invite them to play.
This season should be a lot of fun. I think we can get further into the playoffs than last season. lol. If we don't we're all fired. The boss (steinbrenner family?) wants results.
Ra went to the captain's meeting yesterday. There are a few rule changes. In scotch doubles, one player can play and have a chance to run the table rather than just forfeit the match (this may work in our favor since we're going to have to forfeit some games in the first weeks). Everything else remains pretty much the same.

15 Balls and her . . . !
Great game guys! 12-3 is the final tally versus the Seoul Pub Libido Boyz. Great way to end the season. Now we're in the playoffs and it looks like it's against either Orange Tree, Nashville, or whoever they decide to throw at us. See for yourself. The start time is 6 pm on Sunday. This Sunday, in 3 days, not 10.Also, I voted for Bernard for president, but I'd still like Johan to do the banquet cause I love his sarcasm. If you want to add your votes, go ahead. I also nominated Andy because he's got a pretty face^^.
And, another congratulations to Kae Hoon who finished #3 overall in the most improved ratings list plus 194 point with a singles record of 17/24 good for a, top of the team, 70% winning percentage followed by Dwayne's 26/40 = 65%, and 25/40 for Ra! (one damn game!) to get a 62% winning percentage. Ra! is on the most improved rating's first page somewhere below Kae Hoon, too, perhaps at #11. Kae Hoon finished the season with three 8-ball runs (including one in his first game in the league!) and as the winner of the B-level money tournament. Not fucking bad for his first season. Ra! finished with two 8-ball runs both coming in the final three weeks (one with the Scotch-help of "Can'tDoKnow"), and thus Bill (12/20 = 60%) finished with one. Pretty fucking awesome. Taek and Andy finished 18/35 = 51% and 18/30 = 60%, respectively. Enda finishes the season 5/13 = 38% and JB finishes 8/24 = 33% with a rating of 1547, up 10 points from last season -- way to go, JB! The playoff lineup will be dictated somewhat by these percentages, sorry JB.
One more thing, Santa Mierda is #1 in games winning streaks. That's a good way to go into the playoffs. Ra! is on the longest current winning streak list with 8. Ra! is a streaky muh'fucker, losing 7 straight at one point this season.
The fines are easy this week:
JB: -6,000 ($5,000 for taking over 20 minutes).
Dwayne: -6,000 ($5,000 for taking over 20 minutes).
Andy: -1,000
Total: -13,000 Won

Santa Mierda V. Loft AFF

We won 11-4 although we didn't play that hot. Kae Hoon had the rare feat of getting ball in hand on the 8 and not only missing but scratching (good for a -7,000 fine, at least). Ralph and Dwayne both went 3/3, no fines issued. The good news is the drink (or new felt) pool is up to 107,000 Won. Not bad, guys. Good job making boneheaded mistakes!
This week's tally as follows. (Check the running totals here)
Dwayne = 0
Ralph = 0
Taek = -3,000
Bill = -2,000 (missed with ball and hand plus a loss)
JB = -3,000 (two losses and distracting KH and thus costing him 8,000 Won.
Kae Hoon = -8,000 (ouch! fines counted for missing the less than 9mm 8-ball and missing free ball, a pardon issued on the scratching on the 8. ha ha ha)

The King/Nashville Match

Santa Mierda doesn't play like mierda
Great game against Seoul Pub FUTA, 10-5. Everybody got into the party, I had my first 8-ball run -- how do you like that? -- and we won an important game at home and stopped our steak of losing 7-8 against good teams. This makes us dangerous to other teams when we get into the playoffs^^.
As for this week's fines (there are always some!):
Andy: 2,000
Dwayne: 1,000
Bill: 1,000
Taek: didn't play
Kae Hoon: 0
JB: 1,000
Ra: 1,000
Total: 6,000 Won (one of our lowest totals)
