15 Balls and her . . . !

Great game guys! 12-3 is the final tally versus the Seoul Pub Libido Boyz. Great way to end the season. Now we're in the playoffs and it looks like it's against either Orange Tree, Nashville, or whoever they decide to throw at us. See for yourself. The start time is 6 pm on Sunday. This Sunday, in 3 days, not 10.

Also, I voted for Bernard for president, but I'd still like Johan to do the banquet cause I love his sarcasm. If you want to add your votes, go ahead. I also nominated Andy because he's got a pretty face^^.

And, another congratulations to Kae Hoon who finished #3 overall in the most improved ratings list plus 194 point with a singles record of 17/24 good for a, top of the team, 70% winning percentage followed by Dwayne's 26/40 = 65%, and 25/40 for Ra! (one damn game!) to get a 62% winning percentage. Ra! is on the most improved rating's first page somewhere below Kae Hoon, too, perhaps at #11. Kae Hoon finished the season with three 8-ball runs (including one in his first game in the league!) and as the winner of the B-level money tournament. Not fucking bad for his first season. Ra! finished with two 8-ball runs both coming in the final three weeks (one with the Scotch-help of "Can'tDoKnow"), and thus Bill (12/20 = 60%) finished with one. Pretty fucking awesome. Taek and Andy finished 18/35 = 51% and 18/30 = 60%, respectively. Enda finishes the season 5/13 = 38% and JB finishes 8/24 = 33% with a rating of 1547, up 10 points from last season -- way to go, JB! The playoff lineup will be dictated somewhat by these percentages, sorry JB.

One more thing, Santa Mierda is #1 in games winning streaks. That's a good way to go into the playoffs. Ra! is on the longest current winning streak list with 8. Ra! is a streaky muh'fucker, losing 7 straight at one point this season.

The fines are easy this week:

JB: -6,000 ($5,000 for taking over 20 minutes).
Dwayne: -6,000 ($5,000 for taking over 20 minutes).
Andy: -1,000

Total: -13,000 Won
The season's grand total: 120,000 Korean Won

Santa Mierda V. Loft AFF

We won 11-4 although we didn't play that hot. Kae Hoon had the rare feat of getting ball in hand on the 8 and not only missing but scratching (good for a -7,000 fine, at least). Ralph and Dwayne both went 3/3, no fines issued. The good news is the drink (or new felt) pool is up to 107,000 Won. Not bad, guys. Good job making boneheaded mistakes!

This week's tally as follows. (Check the running totals here)

Dwayne = 0
Ralph = 0
Taek = -3,000
Bill = -2,000
(missed with ball and hand plus a loss)
JB = -3,000 (two losses and distracting KH and thus costing him 8,000 Won.
Kae Hoon = -8,000 (ouch! fines counted for missing the less than 9mm 8-ball and missing free ball, a pardon issued on the scratching on the 8. ha ha ha)

The King/Nashville Match

This was a close one.

We definitely had our chances. Kae-Hoon had an 8-ball run that I have absolutely no recollection of.
The fines for the match were:
Andy: 0
Dwayne: 2,000
Bill: 1,000
Taek: 2,000
Kae Hoon: 1,000
JB: DNP
Ra: 5,000

Santa Mierda doesn't play like mierda

Great game against Seoul Pub FUTA, 10-5. Everybody got into the party, I had my first 8-ball run -- how do you like that? -- and we won an important game at home and stopped our steak of losing 7-8 against good teams. This makes us dangerous to other teams when we get into the playoffs^^.

As for this week's fines (there are always some!):

Andy: 2,000
Dwayne: 1,000
Bill: 1,000
Taek: didn't play
Kae Hoon: 0
JB: 1,000
Ra: 1,000

Total: 6,000 Won (one of our lowest totals)

Welcome Back Bill (Can Do No)!

Bill brought us some luck as we edged the Juicers 8-7.

Let's get down to the nitty-gritty.

(Stupid) Fines:

Dwayne: 0 (Although you had no business winning that first game. lol)
Kae-Hoon: -1,000 (doubles)
Andy: -2,000 (Still batting .300 at home.)
Ralph: -1,000 (Kid Kyle is the Ralph killa.)
Bill: -1,000 (Welcome back to the team.) Nice wins.
Taek: -2,000 (wtf?)
JB: -5,000 (3 in a row.) That doubles game was ours. You have to hand it Kyle though. He made two great shots under pressure.

69 with the girls from NSP (there's supposed to be a hyphen in there: 6-9)

6 to 9 | Nice game guys. I take full responsibility for the loss. I am in a deep slump. I'll break out soon. Sorry for the loss. I should have won two of my games and we would have won the night. Anyway, after looking at the fines, I found that apart from Taek who had a great night, we just kinda sucked last night. Still, it was a fun night and the good news is the drink kitty amassed 23,000 Won!

Fines:
Andi = -7,000 (3 straight losses and a missed ball in hand, ouch!) + 2,000 Cheers
Ralpha = -5,000 for 3 straight losses +5,000 Cheers
JBer = - 2,000 for 2 losses +1,000 Cheers
Taek Nine = Great job! -2,000 Cheers
Kae Hoonie = -1,000 -1,000 Cheers
Dwaynie poo = -5,000 for 3 straight losses +1,000 Cheers

= 23,000 for the kitty (see the running total)

Why Andy Should Sit Out Next Week...

According to the Stats Man, here are the winning percentages for each Santa Mierda player at home:

Kae Hoon .667
Dwayne .571
Taek .500
Ra .476
JB .416
Andy .307

What's the reason for this discrepancy? I don't know. I'm just the Stats Man.

Itaewon Money Tournaments

개훈! 승리를 축하해요! Kae Hoon "Kenneth" Lee wins the Itaewon Money Tournament B and 400,000 W.

Dwayne wins 50,000 W in the A Level. Andy, Taek, and Ralph all suck.

JB. No comment.

Finally, a win!

Nice 9-6 win this week over IPC Pinoy.

Andy and I did some fancy calculations at lunch today using our cell phones and the league statistics page. We found the winning percentages of each player this season as of this week. Thought you might like to see it: Ra 73% Andy 66% Dwayne 65% Kae Hoon 60% Taek 56% Enda 41% JB 27% Soon Bom 0%

Now, for the fines. JB lost game #5 straight -5,000 and -2,000 for two losses (great win against Jay Jay in between; Kae Hoon -2,000; Enda -2,000; and Dwayne -1,000. ha ha ha -- no fine for Ra or Taek. See the running total page. We are up to 52,000 in the kitty.

11-4 over Friends the Pain | 10 September 2009 | Fines

Great game. 11-4. Now for the other news.
Wednesday's fines, lol:

Scratch on the break (Andy)
8 ball less than 3 ball lengths from the pocket (Ralph) *in my defense it was a very hard, nearly straight cut shot and not exactly in the spirit of the rule, but anything for drinks!
Losses (JB, JB, Enda, Enda, Dwayne, Ralph)
3 Straight losses (JB)

1,000 Won for each fine, except the 8 ball less than 3 balls lengths and 3 straight losses, which are -5,000 Won each. All totalled Andy -1000, Ralph -6000, Dwayne -1000, JB 2000, Enda -2000
= 12,000 for the drink kitty. purrrrrrr!

A useful back up site

Here's a back up itaewon pool site when the main site is down. All it has is the schedule and the rules, but it's something.

Santa Mierda's Bonuses and Penalties (all paid to the drink kitty)

Ra!'s scribes have decreed that, to make things a little more interesting, we will have a few fines and bonuses for certain situations. Any monies collected in penalties will go to buying drinks. The rules are as follows:

The Good

  • 8 ball run or break and run, everybody gives that player 10,000. Subsequent cases will be 3,000 per player (aka one drink)
  • 8 ball in on the break, 1,000 from everyone.
  • If you go up over 150 points at the end of the season, you get a drink from the captain. If you're the captain, someone on the team will buy one for you. =)
  • If you go up over 100 points at any point in the season, you get a drink from the captain. If you're the captain, someone on the team will buy one for you. =)
  • If you win both singles games, the losingest player that night will buy you a drink.

The Bad

  • Scratch when shooting for the 8-ball, -2,000 (updated)
  • Horribly distracting a player when he's shooting a crucial shot in the match, -1,000. (updated)
  • Cue ball in on the break ("scratch" in other words, you pinche testaduro) costs you 1,000
  • Every loss costs you 1,000
  • If you lose 100 pts in the season, put 10,000 into the drink kitty.
  • If you miss the 8 ball that is 9 cm (or 3 ball lengths) or less from the pocket, put 5,000 into the kitty. Feel free to curse yourself, your relatives, other players, and anyone within 15 meters of you.
  • Lose three straight games, 5,000 won into the pussy.
  • If you get a free ball and miss your shot, 2,000 won to the kitty.
  • If your singles or doubles game lasts longer than 21 minutes, you have to buy a pitcher of beer for the Mierda team.
